A Louisiana couple died in Puerto Rico on New Year's Eve after their liveaboard catamaran exploded and burned at Puerto Real Marina in Cabo Rojo. Dead are Gather and Ginna Tannehill, owners of the 42-foot catamaran Miss Adventure. Police said the fire began in the galley. The couple was described as being in their late 60s.

Over the years we've discussed the risks of having liquid petroleum gas onboard many times, and I recently shared frequent PS contributor and marine surveyor Capt. Frank Lanier’s tips on checking for leaks."
