A Partner in Growth
Business manager, boat captain, pilot, scuba diver, rancher, mother. Rebecca Fickett has worn many hats over the years.
For Rebecca, or Becky as most people call her, a life-long love of the water started early while growing up in a family of boaters and fishermen in Miami. It could be said that she is responsible for Mirage's location in Gainesville, Florida, because soon after she enrolled at the University of Florida to study Business Management, her boyfriend, Ken Fickett, followed her north from Miami. As Ken's early forays into building fiberglass kayaks evolved into a manufacturing business, Becky was supportive, and even tried her hand at glasswork before realizing her talents lay elsewhere. Marriage solidified the bond, and as the company grew, she not only kept the books, but also handled tasks ranging from answering phones and training new employees to delivering boats by both land and sea. The arrival of children led to the creation of a playroom at the factory. As the children grew, family time often centered around sailing races, fishing tournaments and explorations of the waterways of Florida and the Bahamas. Becky continues her work as Mirage's CFO, and coordinates sales and deliveries of new and brokerage boats for the company.
