TT35 Performance Comparisons
For years, cruising powerboats have fallen into one of two general categories. There are displacement-speed trawlers, which slip through the water at a slow but efficient pace, and there are planing boats that ride high and fast while consuming far more fuel for the distance traveled. In between are a lesser number of “semi displacement” models that offer the promise of more speed than trawlers, and better fuel economy than a planing boat. Unfortunately, many of these designs fall short on this promise.
The TT35 is the first powerboat of its type to deliver displacement-speed economies at cruising speeds between 10 and 20 mph. To see how this revolutionary design stacks up agains other cruising boats when operating in this speed range, we ran the numbers on the TT35 in a head-to-head comparison with two existing styles of mid-sized cruiser. First up is an popular outboard-powered “pocket cruiser” with plenty of speed. The second competitor is a diesel-powered “fast trawler.” We think the numbers speak for themselves.
